Meet Jack! Jack is a handsome Shihpoo puppy with a handsome tan-and-white parti-colored coat. He is a growing boy who we are confident will grow up to be a wonderful companion. Jack was born on June 18, 2026, and will be ready for his forever home when he is 8 weeks old, beginning August 13, 2026. He is an F1 Shihpoo, which means he is 50% Poodle and 50% Shih Tzu. His mom, Prissy, is a beautiful 8-pound Shih Tzu with a regal and loving personality. His dad, Dash, is a handsome Mini/Toy Poodle who weighs 9 pounds and has a happy and playful personality. Both parents are registered and health tested. Before going to his forever home, Jack will visit my trusted veterinarian for a wellness exam and health certificate. He will also see my wonderful groomer for a light puppy trim around his face, feet, and hygiene areas. He will be dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age and will receive his first two rounds of puppy vaccinations at 6 and 8 weeks. He will also receive flea and tick prevention at 8 weeks old. Jack will go home with a neatly organized folder containing all of his medical records and registration papers. He will also have a go-home bag filled with food, treats, potty bags, toys, a blanket that smells like his mom and siblings, and more! My puppies are very well socialized with people of all ages—from toddlers to the elderly. They are also well socialized with other dogs and cats. We begin crate and potty training early, providing plenty of positive exposure so they are well prepared to continue mastering these skills with their new families. If you have any questions about welcoming Jack into your home, I would love to speak with you! Please feel free to contact me anytime. I also work closely with trusted puppy transportation companies if needed. We are happy to meet partway within reason to help shorten your trip. It is easy for us to meet halfway to St. Louis, in Jefferson City, halfway to Kansas City, or in Springfield!

Frequently Asked Questions
About Shihpoo Puppies

What's the personality of a Shihpoo?
With mixed genes from a Shih Tzu and Poodle, it’s no wonder the Shihpoo is such a loving, sweet dog. These little guys adore people and will do just about anything to be with them. They don’t need much exercise or grooming, but they’ll take as much attention as they can get. Full-grown, they typically weigh 8-18 pounds and stand 8-18 inches tall.
Are Shihpoos good family dogs?
Shihpoos are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. These dogs get along well with children but prefer older kids who are more gentle. They also make good friends for other family dogs and cats. They're relatively quiet and don't bark much.
What's the best way to exercise a Shihpoo?
Shihpoos don’t need much exercise to stay happy and healthy. They usually get enough activity just by playing with their family. If you want to take your Shihpoo out, they enjoy going for walks or playing around in the grass. Overall, their exercise needs are low.
What's the coat like on a Shihpoo?
The Shihpoo’s coat will range from curly to wavy to straight, depending on whether their Shih Tzu or Poodle genes are stronger. Normally, it’s curlier than the Shih Tzu but not as curly as the Poodle's. Their fur doesn’t shed much, so normal brushing or professional grooming will keep these dogs looking their best. Grooming-wise, this breed is moderate.
What should first-time owners know about Shihpoos?
Shihpoos are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. At 7-20 pounds, the Shihpoo is a great fit for apartments or houses. If they have a yard to play in, make sure your Shihpoo primarily lives indoors so they can be around people. They are can be stubborn and challenging to train.

See Full Guide Here

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
