If you're looking for the ultimate sweet and soulful companion with absolutely stunning looks, Koda (Jasmine3Boy5) is your boy! 🩵 With his gorgeous rich red coat, wide white collar, full white stockings, naturally short tail, and those bright crystal-clear blue eyes, this boy is an absolute showstopper. 👀✨ He has the sweetest, soft expression that suits his personality perfectly.
But Koda has always been so much more than a pretty face. Look back through his puppy album and you'll see the sweet-natured, observant and deeply affectionate little guy we've known from the beginning. He's playful and silly with other dogs, incredibly attentive to what's happening around him, and absolutely soaks up one-on-one attention and affection from the people he knows and trusts. 📸❤️
Koda recently spent four days in a new home alongside one of his littermates. They are both wonderful puppies, but they have very different personalities. His sister is naturally bold and extremely confident, while Koda is our softer, more observant soul. Her much bigger personality proved to be a little overwhelming for him, and after seeing Koda become more hesitant and unsure around her, we decided the two would be better off growing up separately.
Now that Koda is back home at Silverside, we've had the opportunity to see him settle right back into familiar surroundings—and honestly, nothing about our original assessment of this boy has changed. He's still the same happy, playful, curious little puppy we've known from the beginning. He's silly with the other dogs, attentive to everything going on around him, and once he knows you, he's an incredibly loving little Velcro puppy who wants to be right there with his people. 🩵
Koda LOVES other dogs! 🐾 He comes alive when he gets to run, wrestle and play, and we think a friendly, playful, well-adjusted dog could be a wonderful companion for him. At the same time, he's also at such an important age for bonding with his new family, learning about the world and building his own confidence through lots of individual attention, training and positive new experiences.
At only 11 weeks old, Koda is still a brand-new puppy with so much of the world left to experience! He's naturally observant and likes to take a moment to figure out unfamiliar people and situations rather than immediately diving right in. His future family should be ready to continue the age-appropriate socialization, stimulation and training every young puppy needs, while giving Koda the time to get to know them and form that close bond.
Coming from Jasmine and Spartan, Koda has the foundation for that wonderful combination we love in our Aussies: a dog who's ready to get out and do things with you, but can settle down and enjoy being part of the family when the adventure is over. He's intelligent, observant and people-oriented, and we think training together will be one of the best ways for his new family to continue building both his confidence and their bond.
His Ideal Home 🏡
Koda's best fit will be someone who wants a true companion and is excited to put the time into raising a young Aussie. A friendly, playful dog would certainly be a bonus, but more than anything, Koda needs a family who will make him part of their everyday life—with plenty of individual attention, training, play, cuddles and safe opportunities to experience new things.
He's not necessarily going to meet a brand-new person and immediately show them the affectionate little Velcro puppy we see at home. Koda likes to observe first and get to know you. Give him that opportunity, though, and underneath that thoughtful first impression is the same sweet, soulful, playful and deeply affectionate boy we've known since he was tiny.
Koda has had a wonderful head start with our ENS, ESI and Baxter & Bella foundations, along with all of the care we put into our puppies before they leave us. He's completed two veterinary wellness exams and his individual OFA CAER eye certification, and is up to date on his age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming and preventative care. At just 11 weeks old, he's ready for his family to take it from here—continuing his training and socialization, introducing him to more of the world as he's safely able, and giving him plenty of time to bond and become their little Velcro Aussie.I think that fits the rest of the profile much better while also reminding people that although he's 11 weeks old, he hasn't just been sitting around waiting for a home.
We think Koda is going to make one incredibly devoted best friend, and we can't wait to find the family who gets to watch him grow into exactly who he's meant to be. 🐾🩵
We also have a couple litters planned for the fall & Quinn just came into heat so 🤞 for puppies in September & travel ready late October. Review the next available Waitlist Pick# & everyone's preferences at silversideaussies.com/waitlist.

What are Australian Shepherds known for?
Australian Shepherds are a beautiful breed with merle coats, high energy, and and an obsession with being close to their families. These dogs are wonderful family companions, but be prepared to keep them active and occupied to avoid having a sad, destructive Aussie. Full-grown, they typically weigh 40-65 pounds and stand 18-23 inches tall.
Do Australian Shepherds do well in a busy household?
Australian Shepherds are generally excellent with children of all ages. Australian Shepherds are great companion for kids and other pets, especially if they’re socialized as puppies. These dogs can be happy in warm or cool climates, but they need plenty of space to run and play and should have their primary living space indoors. They're moderate barkers — they'll alert you when something's up but aren't excessive.
Do Australian Shepherds need a lot of physical activity?
Aussies need a lot of high-energy activities and mental stimulation to keep them happy. They’re the perfect exercise buddies, especially for families that like being outdoors. Take your Australian Shepherd for a run, hike, or a long play session in a big backyard to keep their hearts soaring and their minds sharp. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
Are Australian Shepherds high-maintenance when it comes to grooming?
The Australian Shepherd has a dense undercoat and outer coat with medium to long hair that’s straight or slightly wavy. Aussies’ fur is short and soft on their head and legs, with a thick mane around the neck. These dogs can be black, red, red merle (dark patches on a light background), or blue merle, and some may have white markings or tan points too. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
Do Australian Shepherds need a big yard?
Australian Shepherds are best suited for a home with a yard, though they can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise. These dogs can be happy in warm or cool climates, but they need plenty of space to run and play and should have their primary living space indoors. They are highly trainable and eager to learn.
