In this litter there are 2 males and 3 females. These pups were born New Years Eve, 12/31/2025, and their "Go Home" date is 3/10/2026. I require an application to be filled out and approved before collecting a deposit. How will you know which puppy will be yours? I interview each family to see what their expectations are for their new family member, and assign each puppy to the family that is best suited for them. I will be updating photos here from time to time. Will be glad to discuss your puppy plans, or answer any questions about the breed.
This puppy will have a rich wheaten color when mature. Buhunds are born dark and lighten to wheaten as they grow older.

About Norwegian Buhund Puppies
About Norwegian Buhund Puppies
What should I know about Norwegian Buhunds before buying one?
As a Nordic breed with boundless energy and an alert nature, the Norwegian Buhund will be your best friend one minute, jogging buddy the next, and faithful watchdog the whole way through. Tie up those shoelaces and buy a good brush before welcoming one of these family-friendly dogs into your home. Full-grown, they typically weigh 26-40 pounds and stand 16-19 inches tall.
Can Norwegian Buhunds live with cats and other dogs?
Norwegian Buhunds are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. These dogs are very good with kids and prefer to live indoors with their family. They also get along with cats and dogs if they’re raised together. They're fairly vocal dogs that bark regularly.
What kind of exercise do Norwegian Buhunds need?
Norwegian Buhunds are active dogs that need at least an hour of exercise each day. They have endless stamina and love walking, hiking, chasing Frisbees, and playing catch. Buhunds also are skilled at dog sports, like herding, rally, and agility. Overall, their exercise needs are high.
How often should I brush a Norwegian Buhund?
The Norwegian Buhund has a thick double coat of tan fur. Their coats shed all year round, so keep a brush handy to remove dead hair and make sure your Buhund always looks their best. Buhunds have heavier periods of shedding in spring and fall, so more frequent brushing will be needed to keep their mane under control. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
How much space does a Norwegian Buhund need?
Norwegian Buhunds are best suited for a home with a yard, though they can adapt to apartment life with enough exercise. These dogs are very good with kids and prefer to live indoors with their family. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
