Mack (nicknamed Big Mack) is a spoiled only child who loves to play with his good natured momma Leia by chewing on her tail and biting playful at her paws. He also dives face first into her food bowl every breakfast and dinner. The “breed standard” for Maltese is pure white hair with solid black noses, black paw pads, and black rimming around their eyes and mouths. These four things are called black points and not having all of them is considered a flaw. Big Mack doesn’t give a “good boy, potty outside” and decided to blaze his own trend with mostly pink points instead. This gives him adorably pink little toes beans and big thumbs down from any show dog competition. Well, he’s got a toe bean for them too. And it’s pink. That said, his adoption fee is discounted slightly due to his genetics’ ambitious style choice. And then raised again because, well… look at him. Due to his incredibly tiny size, I will be holding onto this little diva for a bit longer than usual. He will be ready to leave for his forever home likely around 10-12 weeks. If his weight stays on track to land him at the 3.5lbs it currently predicts, he will still be well under 2lbs at that time. So, Leia and I are no rush to let him out of our sight 💕 Adult Size: Teacup/Toy Weight at One Year: Estimated 3.5-7.5lbs ____________________________ Natalie - ___________________________ Best Friends Kennels is a family business where our animals are valued members of both the family and the team. Frequently Asked Questions
About Maltese Puppies

How would you describe a Maltese?
The Maltese, with their long hair and dark round eyes, have a unique appearance. A sociable breed they often befriend other pets and will warm up to strangers given enough time and interaction Full-grown, they typically weigh 4-7 pounds and stand 7-9 inches tall.
Will a Maltese get along with my other pets?
Malteses are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. The Maltese, with their loving personalities and playful attitudes, are great around older children. They are definitely companion dogs who also get along well with other pets. They're moderate barkers — they'll alert you when something's up but aren't excessive.
Can Malteses keep up with an active lifestyle?
The Maltese does not require an abundance of activity , but they do love to play chase and enjoy occasional walks. So strap up your tennis shoes and provide plenty of catch-toys for this toy breed! Overall, their exercise needs are low.
How much grooming does a Maltese need?
Maltese have a distinctive long, white, silky coat with no undercoat. Some may have cream or lemon-colored ears. They do require daily brushing to remove dead hair and require periodic dental care since they do sometimes have problems with their teeth. Grooming-wise, this breed is fairly high-maintenance. Malteses are considered hypoallergenic, which can be a plus for allergy sufferers.
Can a Maltese live in an apartment?
Malteses are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. This breed can adapt to a rural lifestyle but does best as an indoor dog. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.
