This a line-bred Sundance/Friedelsheim NAVHDA registered pup. Sundance/Friedelsheim dogs are known for being quick developing, healthy, great stamina for multiple day arduous hunting trips. They have strong natural pointing, retrieving, swimming and tracking instincts. They are also very biddable and easily trained.
The dam, our Prissy, is barely three years old yet she is already an avid hunter. She has hunted scaled, California and Bobwhite quail as well as Chukar and Hungarian Partridges and Blue Grouse across New Mexico, Utah and Oregon.
We chose Prissy very carefully. Her breeding is a combination of lines that we had owned already, and some of the best that weve had.
Prissys mother is a combination of Rio Concho breeding and has some of the best German registered stock in her background, going back to Rocky Von Neuerenberg. We owned one of Rocky Von Nueurenbergs neices, Violet. About 20 years ago Rocky was probably the single most used and most famous studs in Europe, maybe in the world. That line of German bred dogs is also easy to train and high performing.
Prissys sire is Rip. Rio Concho kennels had intended to keep Rip, but a persistent buyer was so impressed by Rip that he persuaded Rio Concho to let him go. Rip is a fantastic versatile hunting dog. We own Rips littermate Rosie. She is highly versatile, does an amazing natural duck search and is a retrieving beast in the water and fantastic on finding and pointing birds like her brother. Rip received a Prize 1 in Natural Ability within NAVHDA.
The sire of these puppies, Ghost, resides in Kansas. He is an amazing versatile dog. He has sired many high performing hunting litters. For more information on Ghost: https://www.sundance-gsp.com/ghost.html. Ghosts sire, Mason, was one of the most decorated versatile hunting dogs in the United States: https://www.sundance-gsp.com/mason.html. Mason was a show champion, field champion, master hunter and a NAVHDA versatile champion. Ghosts mother was also a NAVHDA versatile champion and an AKC Master hunter.
Nearly all of the dogs in the last 5 generations were active and tested in the AKC, NAVHDA or German system. Rio Concho, Sundance and Friedelsheimss all breed high quality, versatile, practical hunting dogs. And the German ancestry is some of the best in the world.

About
German Shorthaired Pointer
Puppies
What kind of dog is a German Shorthaired Pointer?
German Short-haired Pointers are medium-large sized hunting dogs who also make excellent companions. They are loyal, loving, and protective. As long as they get plenty of exercise German Shorthaired Pointers are happy, family friendly dogs that fit right in with families who fill their calendar with lots of doggie-friendly outdoor activities. Full-grown, they typically weigh 45-70 pounds and stand 21-25 inches tall.
Will a German Shorthaired Pointer get along with my other pets?
German Shorthaired Pointers are generally excellent with children of all ages. Families with other pets, especially small furry kittens, should know that German Short-haired Pointers don’t always distinguish between your pets and animals they want to hunt. They can learn to play nice with your other pets if they are raised around them, but you’ll always want to keep an eye out for aggressive play. They're moderate barkers — they'll alert you when something's up but aren't excessive.
Are German Shorthaired Pointers couch potatoes or do they need a lot of exercise?
You know that friend of yours who does triathlons? That’s the German Shorthaired Pointer. They need at least an hour of daily exercise to stay happy. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
Is a German Shorthaired Pointer a good choice for someone with allergies?
The German Short-haired Pointer never needs a raincoat because their hair repels water and keeps them warm in harsh conditions, but their coat does shed quite a bit. The shedding happens seasonally as they prepare their bodies for what nature will be throwing at them next. It’s best to brush them every week or so to keep their coat and skin healthy and to cut down on shedding. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
What should first-time owners know about German Shorthaired Pointers?
German Shorthaired Pointers are best suited for a house with a good-sized yard. German Short-haired Pointers need room to roam. They do not do well in apartments and prefer homes with big backyards where they can safely play. They are highly trainable and eager to learn.
