It's with a heavy heart that I am searching for a safe, loving home for Nugget—a one-of-a-kind, teacup Yorkshire puppy. Nugget is truly exceptional and incredibly tiny. At only 1.2 lbs right now, he’s projected to be no more than 3-4 lbs fully grown. Nugget is 8 months old, extremely sweet, and loves to cuddle up in bed with his person or people. Every night, he snuggles between my husband and me in our king-sized bed, and he also loves his cozy, cat-like enclosed bed.
Nugget is impressively smart and aware of his surroundings—more so than any other puppy I’ve encountered. He’s pad-trained, enjoys going outside for fresh air and sunlight (always closely supervised), and also reliably potties outdoors. Nugget travels well; he accompanied us on a 12-hour car trip without any issues.
One of my favorite things about Nugget is his playful personality—when he’s excited and you talk to him, he’ll "talk back" and bark in response! He loves cat toys and enjoys simply hanging out with you. Every morning, he joins me in the bathroom while I shower, playing or eating his breakfast while I get ready for the day.
Because of his size, I’m careful with his meals, feeding him twice daily for his health and to keep his vitals strong. He’s fond of Jinx salmon kibble (free-fed), Jinx meal topper, Freshpet refrigerated food, and Dinomite probiotics sprinkled on top. Occasionally, he gets a bit of Jinx meal gravy topper for excitement. Nugget adores Jinx beef star treats—small, soft, and made with beef and banana.
As you can see, Nugget is cherished and very well cared for. Rehoming him is a difficult decision, but his tiny size makes me worry for his safety in our busy farm household. He loves to play, especially with our cats, but he needs a quieter, safer environment—one without the constant bustle of kids, other pets, and doors opening and closing. Despite everyone being aware of his size, I worry about accidental injuries and want to ensure he has the best life possible.
We purchased Nugget from a reputable Yorkie breeder (met mom, dad, and littermates). His mom has a red-brown coat, dad has standard coloring, and Nugget has a distinctive white patch on his head. My sister fondly calls him a "little old man," but to me, he’s simply adorable with the best personality.
