Piper — 10-Month-Old Golden Retriever | Companion or Scent Work Home
Piper is an affectionate, eager-to-please Golden Retriever looking for a loving, permanent home. She enjoys learning and has excelled in obedience and scent work. She would be a wonderful match for someone who enjoys training and wants a companion to continue learning alongside them.
At just 10 months old, Piper has earned six AKC titles:
• SCN — Scent Work Container Novice
• SEN — Scent Work Exterior Novice
• SBN — Scent Work Buried Novice
• CGC — Canine Good Citizen
• STR — AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
• VHMP — Virtual Home Manners Puppy
She has completed 18 weeks of obedience classes and 36 weeks of nose work classes. Videos of her training are available. She has also been filmed performing the skills for Trick Dog Novice, although that title has not yet been awarded.
Piper was originally being raised as a future breeding prospect. Her OFA eye screening identified suspected inherited eye disease, recorded as IE7: Retinal Dysplasia — Geographic or Detached Forms. Because of this finding, she will not be part of our breeding program.
Her examining ophthalmologist advised that Piper’s specific finding is not expected to affect her vision, but could be inherited by future offspring. Her eye examination report will be shared with prospective owners, along with any recommendations from her specialist.
Piper is being placed as a companion or sport dog only, with no breeding rights and a spay requirement. Finding a home that suits her personality and gives her opportunities to learn, train, and be part of the family is my priority.
Please tell me about your household, experience with dogs, and any interest in continuing her training.
