🐾 Pumpkin – Blue Heeler Girl Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾 📲 Contact: Taylor P 📞 (919) 339-9107 Call or text (text preferred) This is Pumpkin, and her story is one that’s hard to tell without breaking your heart. 💔 Wire was rescued from a truly terrible situation. She spent her life confined to a 5×5 outdoor pen, with no dog house, no shelter from the cold or heat, and often no food or water. She was nothing but skin and bones, quietly surviving conditions no dog should ever know. We tried over and over to help her. We offered multiple times to take her, get her safe, and find her the perfect home — but her owners refused, saying they had “paid too much” for her to give her away. We even reached out to animal control several times, but nothing was done. Eventually, we were told the only way to save Wire was to buy her freedom. The price was $500. We pulled together everything we could and paid it — because her life was worth more than money. Since rescuing her, Wire has completely transformed. She has been properly fed, cared for, and loved. She’s now at a healthy weight and finally learning what it means to feel safe. She is a Blue Heeler, true to the breed — smart, loyal, and deeply bonded to her people — but she also has a soft, affectionate side that just wants reassurance and companionship. Wire has received all of her booster vaccines from us, though unfortunately the records were misplaced. She is due for her rabies vaccine, which her future family will need to schedule. Despite everything she’s been through, Wire is incredibly sweet. She’s still learning that she doesn’t have to be afraid, but once she trusts you, she will give you her whole heart. She deserves a home where she will never be cold, hungry, or forgotten again. 📍 Public meet-ups only for safety We meet at: • Smithfield Community Park • Selma Police Department Wire didn’t give up — and neither did we. Now all she needs is someone willing to give her the life she’s always deserved. 🐾

Frequently Asked Questions
About Australian Cattle Dog Puppies
What makes Australian Cattle Dogs special?
With a long lineage of cattle herding ancestors, the Australian Cattle Dog, also called Blue or Red Heeler or Queensland Heeler, is known as a tireless, loyal breed that loves having something to do. They need mental and physical stimulation to stay out of trouble, but if you can keep them entertained, they’ll be wonderful companions. Full-grown, they typically weigh 35-50 pounds and stand 17-20 inches tall.
How do Australian Cattle Dogs behave around young children?
Australian Cattle Dogs are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. Australian Cattle Dogs make ideal companions for children and other dogs if they’re socialized at a young age and treated with respect. Their herding instinct may cause them to nip at running kids, so training is important to teach them good behavior. They're relatively quiet and don't bark much.
How do I keep a Australian Cattle Dog physically active?
Australian Cattle Dogs have loads of energy and need lots of mental and physical stimulation. Otherwise, they're likely to get into trouble. Their herding roots make them great companions for running, biking, and other outdoor activities. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
How much brushing and bathing does a Australian Cattle Dog need?
The Australian Cattle Dog’s outer coat is weather resistant, short, and a bit rough. The inner layer is short and thick. They are born with a white coat, but it darkens over time to become red-speckled or blue/blue mottled, and they often have markings as well. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
Can a Australian Cattle Dog live in an apartment?
Australian Cattle Dogs are best suited for a rural property or home with a large yard. Australian Cattle Dogs are wary of strangers, so they may not be the best fit for homes with constant visitors. They’re an indoor/outdoor breed that needs the space of a home rather than the tight confinement of apartment. They are fairly easy to train.
Puppy Buyer's FAQ
See Full Guide Here
Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
