Meet Ranger, one of those wonderfully balanced puppies who makes us think, "This boy could fit into so many different homes." ❤️
He is gentle, sweet, easygoing, and adaptable. We could picture him happily becoming part of a busy family, but we could just as easily see him thriving as the devoted companion of a single owner.
🐾 Temperament Highlights
Human Assertiveness: LOW
Ranger was incredibly polite and gentle with his tester. He doesn't feel the need to push himself into someone's space or demand attention. His approach to people is soft and respectful.
Confidence: Medium–High
Ranger has a nice natural confidence without being reckless. He can be cautious and likes to assess what's happening first, but as the test progressed, we watched his confidence grow and more of his personality emerge.
Motivation: HIGH
Ranger showed a strong willingness to engage and work with the tester. This should be a wonderful quality when it comes to training and building communication with his future family.
Nerve Strength & Resilience: Medium–High
He handled challenges well and demonstrated a nice ability to recover and continue moving forward.
Touch Tolerance: HIGH ❤️
Ranger handled physical touch beautifully and is comfortable with human interaction and handling.
Energy: MEDIUM
He has a lovely middle-of-the-road energy level. Interestingly, his energy increased somewhat as his confidence grew during the evaluation. Once he realized everything was okay, we got to see a little more pep!
🔊 Sound Sensitivity: Medium–High
Sound was one area where Ranger showed more sensitivity. Unexpected noises definitely registered with him, so continued positive exposure to different sounds will be beneficial.
The important thing is that this sensitivity exists alongside good nerve strength and resilience. He can notice something and still work through it.

Ranger handled unexpected visual stimuli very well.
He is naturally cautious enough to stop and evaluate something unfamiliar rather than blindly rushing toward it, but visual surprises didn't significantly unsettle him.
Prey Drive: HIGH
Ranger showed a definite interest in movement and prey-type activities. We scored this trait high. His future family may find that games involving chasing, retrieving, searching, or other appropriate outlets for that instinct are especially rewarding for him.

Ranger likes people and engages beautifully with them, but he doesn't appear excessively dependent on human attention.
That's part of what makes him feel so balanced. He can enjoy his person without needing his person to regulate every moment of his world.

Ranger likes other dogs!
When introduced to the mirror, he initially approached cautiously and took time to evaluate the "dog" he saw. As his confidence increased throughout the test, so did his interest and enthusiasm.
We believe he could be very happy living with another compatible dog, but we don't feel that he needs another dog in order to thrive. He should also be perfectly comfortable as the only dog in his home.

Ranger did beautifully during our Tenderhearted Test.
He was aware that the tester's emotions had changed and recognized that something was happening, but he didn't emotionally lose himself in her emotions.
That's a really nice balance. He notices his people without necessarily feeling that he has to carry everything they're feeling.
And bonus points for Ranger: he used the potty box during his evaluation! 🎉
🏡 Overall Impression
Ranger is simply a sweet, balanced, easygoing boy.
He combines medium energy with good confidence, high motivation, strong touch tolerance, nice resilience, and an ability to connect with both people and dogs without appearing overly dependent on either.
We could see him fitting beautifully into a family home with children, living with another compatible dog, becoming someone's one-and-only four-legged companion, or sharing life with a single owner looking for a devoted best friend.
He is cautious enough to think, confident enough to explore, motivated enough to train, playful enough to have fun, and emotionally balanced enough to settle back down.
Ranger feels like the kind of dog who doesn't need a very specific life to be happy. He simply needs people who will love him and let him become part of theirs. 🏞️🐾❤️
