Our Golden Retriever puppies are born and raised right in our family home, where they are truly part of everyday family life from the very beginning. We probably make life a little harder for ourselves 😂, but we firmly believe that if we choose to bring these puppies into the world, then it is our responsibility to do everything we can to give them the very best start possible.
We go the extra mile with their care, nutrition, socialization and early development. When it is time to begin weaning, I hand-make their weaning formula using carefully chosen, clean ingredients, often organic where possible. Our focus is on giving them a healthy, wholesome foundation as they grow, to enable them the healthiest life possible!
Socialization is also incredibly important to us. The puppies are handled, loved and exposed to normal household life, people and experiences so that they leave us confident, well-adjusted and accustomed to being part of a family.
We also put a great deal of thought into matching each puppy with the right home. While Golden Retrievers are known for their wonderful temperaments, every puppy still has its own little personality. We do our best to get to know both our puppies and their future families so we can make the most intentional match possible.
Our puppies generally go to their new homes around 8 weeks of age. The exact timing depends on their individual development and how much important etiquette and social learning they have received from Mom. This stage can be especially valuable for learning appropriate behavior and submission. We also consider the puppy's future home — whether the family has raised a Golden or puppy before, and how much experience they have around dogs, how much they are home etc are all important factors for us to consider when deciding the best time for each puppy to leave.
Before going home, puppies will have had their first veterinary health check and vaccinations, will have been wormed regularly, and will leave with their registration papers.
Both Mom and Dad are healthy, beautiful Golden Retrievers with truly wonderful personalities, and those qualities are exactly what we hope to pass along to their puppies.
For us, raising puppies isn't simply about finding them homes — it's about giving them the strongest beginning we can and finding families where they can be loved for a lifetime. ❤️🐾
