Meet Tanana - my little “I can do it” girl!
Tanana has been my little “I can do it” girl almost from the beginning. She's always ready to see what's happening next and seems to approach life looking for her next little adventure.
I got an early glimpse of that side of her when she was only 15 days old. Tanana became the first - and only - puppy in the litter to make her way out of the whelping box. Her great escape wasn't quite as dramatic as it sounds! She managed to climb over the pig rail and landed right on top of her mama, who was lying just outside the box. Still, at only 15 days old, it was a pretty good introduction to the little girl I was going to get to know.
That same adventurous spirit continues to show as she grows. Tanana enjoys exploring what's around her and is usually ready to move on to whatever the next interesting thing happens to be. She's an active participant in the different experiences and activities I introduce to the litter.
Tanana was born July 8, 2026, and has been raised in our home at Purple Pups GSD as part of our structured puppy development program. From an early age, she has received lots of hands-on attention along with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), age-appropriate socialization, and exposure to new people, places, sights, sounds, surfaces, environments, and everyday experiences.
Her early training is also well underway. Tanana is working on the foundations of potty training, crate training, sitting for things she wants, appropriate mouth behavior, and everyday manners. These skills are introduced gradually at this age and give her new family a foundation they can continue building on after she goes home.
At seven weeks, Tanana completed temperament testing. I combine those results with everything I've observed while raising her to help determine what type of home and family may be the best match for her individual personality.
Tanana's parents have been health tested. Her dam has completed DNA testing through Embark and hip evaluation through PennHIP. Her sire, Quest von Nummer-Eins, has OFA Good hips and normal elbows and comes from accomplished German show and working lines.
Tanana has received age-appropriate veterinary care, including a veterinary examination and her first vaccinations. She is AKC registrable and goes home with her health and vaccination records, our genetic health guarantee, puppy information, and continued breeder support.
Our relationship with our puppy families doesn't end on pickup day. I'm available to help with questions about training, settling in, development, and life with your new German Shepherd as Tanana grows.
At eight weeks old, Tanana continues to be that little “I can do it” puppy I first saw climbing out of the whelping box. She's interested in what's around her, ready for the next experience, and always seems curious about what adventure might be coming next. I think she could be a wonderful match for a family looking for an engaged, curious German Shepherd puppy and willing to continue giving her the training, structure, socialization, and activities that an inquisitive young shepherd needs.
