Hi! I have an upcoming litter and I’m looking to potentially trade from it to acquire a new puppy that’s unrelated to my dogs for my program. This litter is between Montana my Black and Tan Dapple Piebald Shorthair and Magnum an Isabella based ee Cream Longhair male I paid to use for stud owned by a breeder in Texas. Montana is a Black and Tan Dapple Piebald Shorthair. I flew to Florida to get Montana last year in 2025. Montana is embark tested. She carries Chocolate and Dilute. She is homozygous Dapple and believed to be Mosaic or have mosaic puppies at least. She has had one previous litter. She is a PRA Carrier for cord1-4 and clear of PRA5. Clear for all other genetic conditions. Montana isn’t overly playful with humans or dogs. She does play but doesn’t really get too overly involved in it. She’s perfectly fine hanging around. She’s friendly with humans but doesn’t approach or ask for attention from them but is happy to receive it. Montana has learned crate training and house manners relatively well as well. She is AKC registered Magnum isn’t my dog so I don’t have much to say about him. He is Embark tested and I have copies of those results. Is PRA clear for cord1-4 and PRA affected for PRA5. Magnum has had litters before that I also have pictures on. I also have a copy of his pedigree. He is an Isabella based ee Cream Longhair. He carries Piebald. He is also genetically pointed. He is also AKC registered Just some quick general overview of their potential pups if you are interested in trading. All pups will be tan pointed carrying cream. All shorthair carrying longhair. All pra carriers for PRA5. Clear or carriers for PRA cord1-4. All AKC registered and I prepay for all of my AKC litters registration. All puppies will be dapple regardless if expression is there or not. I plan on keeping at least one from the litter so I will retain first pick. My puppies leave at 9 weeks old. My vet gives them 6 week and 9 week old vaccinations. They are dewormed, groomed and leave with a puppy pack. As previously mentioned all of my AKC puppies leave with prepaid registration that we fill out at the time of picking up your puppy. In terms of trading I want to make it as fair and easy as possible on both sides. I paid 1800$ just to use Magnum the stud so I’ll be picky about what I want to trade for and receive. And if a trade doesn’t work out it doesn’t work. I only want a female and will only accept AKC registration. I’m not too picky on color and really would like some good quality. Good quality will be put above anything else I’m considering. PRA clear preferably. Must come from genetic tested parents. Montana is due September 20th. My phone number is if you would like to talk further.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Miniature Dachshund Puppies

Is a Miniature Dachshund the right dog for me?
The Dachshund (pronounced dak-sund; also known as a ‘Teckel’) originated in Germany in the sixteenth century. They were bred and trained to chase down prey, such as a badger (Dachshund means ‘Badger Dog’) or fox, enter its burrow, kill it, and retrieve it. Full-grown, they typically weigh 9-11 pounds and stand 5-6 inches tall.
How do Miniature Dachshunds behave around young children?
Miniature Dachshunds are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. The Miniature Dachshund is somewhat reserved around strangers and may bark at them, but forms a strong bond with family. It can be too courageous around larger dogs. They're very vocal and bark quite a lot.
What activities do Miniature Dachshunds enjoy most?
The Miniature Dachshund needs a small amount of exercise; medium length walks or a fair amount of play in the yard should be sufficient. Miniature Dachshunds may tire easily so exercise should be spaced out throughout the day. Miniature Dachshunds can live comfortably in an apartment, but it is best if they get an occasional view of the wild. Overall, their exercise needs are moderate.
What should I expect with Miniature Dachshund shedding?
The smooth- and long-haired Miniature Dachshund should be brushed occasionally to remove dead hairs. Long-haired Miniature Dachshunds are prone to tangles, so they should be groomed more often. The coat of the wire-haired Miniature Dachshund should be plucked twice a year. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
Can a Miniature Dachshund live in an apartment?
Miniature Dachshunds are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. They are fairly easy to train.

Puppy Buyer's FAQ
See Full Guide Here

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
