Life throws us some curveballs sometimes and this puppy and his littermates are the victim of life getting in the way. I have decided to stop breeding, after 55 years, so I am rehoming 5 - 8 month old puppies, all males; 3 females approx. 6 years old and 1 female approx. 8 years old. Everyone is in excellent health but will need experienced and patient owners to get them properly acclimated into their new homes. I am starting them one at a time, taking them into the house, teaching them household rules, walking on a leash, sleeping in the crate, socializing with cats and little yappy dogs and riding in a car. The first puppy is Tuffy; he has been going in for 3 nights and he adjusts to changes very quickly. He is a love and medium energy. He is submissive to my spoiled rotten little dogs that like to get in his face, he sleeps quietly in the crate, walks good on the leash and doesn't care about the cats. He gets along with any dog I have put him with. Because I am the only human that he has interactions with, adjusting to new people will take a little time. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
How much grooming does a Vizsla need?
As trying and time-consuming a Vizsla can be, they give you a break when it comes to maintaining their coat. All you’ll need to do is brush their coat once or twice a week to remove dead hair. You can give them a bath a few times a year, or whenever they’ve played in a particularly attractive mud puddle. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
What should first-time owners know about Vizslas?
Vizslas are best suited for a house with a good-sized yard. First and foremost, Vizslas need to live indoors with their human family. They do, however, need a big space to play outside, so it’s important that a Vizsla has a large, safe area where they can run and play off-leash. They are highly trainable and eager to learn.
