Meet Winston! 🍂 Winston is one of a kind, with a rich chocolate coat, a dark patch over one eye, warm tan highlights, a white chest, and little white-tipped toes. No two markings are alike, and his are truly special. He’s one of the smallest in the litter, and his personality is calm and laid-back. Winston is happy to curl up on a cozy blanket and watch the world go by, and he’s a gentle, easygoing companion who loves quiet snuggles. He’d fit beautifully into a home looking for a relaxed, sweet-natured pup. He’s a petite mini, expected to be around 20 lbs full grown (mom is 25 lbs and dad is 17 lbs), the perfect size for snuggling on the couch, traveling, or fitting into a smaller home. He’s raised in our home in the mountains of Southwest Virginia as part of the family, with lots of handling, playtime, and love from our kids, so he’s well socialized and ready to settle into his new home. Delivery & Pickup We want getting your puppy home to be easy! You’re welcome to pick up in person, or we’re happy to travel to meet you partway or meet you at your nearest airport. See Full Guide Here

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
