This is Woods. 🤎 He is a 2-year-old Bernedoodle, and truly one of the BEST dogs we could have ever asked for. Woods is incredibly friendly and absolutely loves being around people. He is potty trained, crate trained, neutered, listens very well, and just wants to be wherever his people are. We even take him to our family’s farm, where he does amazing. He doesn’t bother the other animals, stays right with us without needing a leash, and listens so well. In so many ways, he is honestly the PERFECT dog. Unfortunately, we have had to make the incredibly difficult decision to look for the right home for Woods because he does have food aggression. We have always fed him separately and have never had an issue managing it that way. However, we have five kids, and one of our children has special needs and does not fully understand danger or why they need to stay away from Woods when food is involved. With kids, food also inevitably gets dropped on the floor, and Woods will go after it. We are constantly worried about a situation happening too quickly for us to intervene and one of our children getting bitten. This decision is absolutely breaking our hearts because outside of this one issue, we could not ask for a better dog. 💔 We want to be completely upfront about his food aggression because finding the RIGHT home for Woods is far more important to us than simply finding him a home. He deserves someone who understands this behavior and can safely manage it. We feel he would do best in a home without young children or with someone experienced with resource guarding. Woods is such a loving, loyal, wonderful boy, and whoever is the right fit for him is going to get an incredible dog. 🤎🐾 Please reach out if you genuinely think you could be the right home for Woods.
