🐩 CHIP — AKC Small Poodle Stud
Casually Available to the Right Breeding Program or Exceptional Pet Home
Chip has been an important part of our breeding program and has helped us produce some truly beautiful Cavapoos and Bernedoodles. As we’ve continued refining our lines, we’ve found ourselves using his brother, Dale, more often because he better fits the size direction we’re moving toward. Chip, however, offers wonderful genetic variety—especially for programs with girls carrying chocolate—and we’d love to see him continue contributing to another thoughtfully built program.
This is not a rushed sale. If the right home doesn’t come along, we’ll happily keep him or eventually place him in the perfect guardian home.
About Chip
* 🏆 AKC Registered
* 🧬 Embark DNA Tested — 100% Clear with no increased genetic risk for any condition tested.
* 📏 15” tall
* ⚖️ 20 lbs (Embark predicted adult weight approximately 23 lbs).
* ❤️ Coming up on 2 years old
* 🩺 OFA testing is planned. His price will increase once those results are completed.
Temperament
Chip is one of those dogs who genuinely loves having “his person.”
He naturally stays close, checks in often, maintains eye contact, and quietly patrols his surroundings without being overbearing. He has a very devoted personality and enjoys having a job.
He gets along with other males overall. I describe him as a beta that occasionally wants to think he’s the alpha. He’s confident without being overly dominant.
As a Stud
Chip is a very motivated breeder.
* Proven natural breeder
* Collects well
* Natural ties
* Negative Brucellosis
* Has consistently produced beautiful puppies for us
Genetics
Chip is genetically:
* 66.6% Small Poodle / 33.4% Standard Poodle, giving him a sturdy, thicker-built poodle structure rather than a refined, leggy frame.
* DNA clear for every condition Embark tested.
* Carries genetics associated with a furnished, long, curly, low-shedding coat.
* Intermediate red intensity genetically, though in our program we’ve found he consistently throws puppies that appear darker than expected, which has been a pleasant surprise.
Why We’re Considering Placing Him
This has nothing to do with Chip himself.
Our breeding program has simply evolved in a direction where we’re using his brother, Dale, more frequently. Since many of our females already carry chocolate, we aren’t needing Chip’s genetics as often as we once did.
For a smaller breeding program looking to add a proven, health-tested AKC poodle with a wonderful temperament, Chip could be an incredible addition.

Also available: If you’re building a program, you’ll notice we also have an AKC Chocolate Cavalier male available. These two boys have worked hand-in-hand helping us fine-tune the genetics and consistency within our program, and we’d be happy to discuss either opportunity with the right breeder.

About
Poodle - Miniature
Puppies
What's it like owning a Miniature Poodle?
France has been officially recognized as the Poodle’s country of origin, but the Poodle’s earlier ancestors came from central Asia. The German variety has probably influenced the modern breed most (‘Poodle’ is German for ‘splash’ or ‘puddle’). They typically weigh 10-15 pounds.
Are Miniature Poodles safe around children?
Miniature Poodles are generally excellent with children of all ages. The Miniature Poodle gets along well with other animals, other dogs, and children. Poodles are highly adaptable and make good watchdogs. They're fairly vocal dogs that bark regularly.
Are Miniature Poodles high-energy dogs?
The Miniature Poodle requires less exercise then the Standard Poodle, but should be walked or allowed to play outdoors. It should do fine with apartment life. Overall, their exercise needs are high.
How much grooming does a Miniature Poodle need?
The Miniature Poodle has a distinctive fine, frizzy, wooly coat similar in texture to sheep’s wool. Solid white is most common, but the coat may also be solid grey, brown, apricot, or black. There are three distinct grooming styles for show Poodles: puppy clip, continental clip, and English saddle clip. Grooming-wise, this breed is fairly high-maintenance. Miniature Poodles are considered hypoallergenic, which can be a plus for allergy sufferers.
Do Miniature Poodles need a house with a yard?
Miniature Poodles are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. They are highly trainable and eager to learn.
