Edward is a gorgeous AKC liver/chocolate Miniature Schnauzer puppy with the sweetest white-tipped toes—the kind of marking that makes him instantly recognizable in every puppy pile. His rich chocolate coat, liver pigment, and tiny white feet give him such a distinctive look.
Edward was born July 22, 2026, from our thoughtfully planned Gilded Greta × The Great Kartoffel litter and will be ready for his new home at 8 weeks of age.
Both Greta and Kartoffel have earned Excellent health-testing recognition by Good Dog standards.
Edward’s dam, Gilded Greta, was retained from our own Happy Beards breeding program. She is a beautiful cream liver Miniature Schnauzer and has been an exceptional mother. Greta’s parents, Prince Pierre of Prospect Park and Cleo of Hidden Hollow, were also health-tested members of our program and are now retired.
Edward’s sire, The Great Kartoffel, is one of the special dogs behind our Happy Beards lines. He is OFA health tested, AKC registered, and has an AKC DNA profile on file. Kartoffel has a beautiful coat and, even more importantly to us, an excellent temperament.
Happy Beards has been breeding Miniature Schnauzers since 1992. Our focus is on health, temperament, structure, and thoughtful pairings while raising puppies who are well prepared to transition into family life.
Raised the Happy Beards Way
Edward is being raised in our home with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), daily handling, structured socialization, and exposure to normal household sights, sounds, people, and pets. We also begin litter-box training before our puppies leave us.
Edward will go home:
AKC limited registration
Tail docked and dewclaws removed
Vet checked
Age-appropriately vaccinated
Dewormed
Microchipped
Litter-box training started
Puppy starter kit
Blanket carrying mom and littermates’ scent
30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with no waiting period
Written health guarantee on a spay/neuter contract
Lifetime Happy Beards breeder support
Nationwide Families Welcome
We are located in Utah, but Happy Beards puppies join families throughout the United States.
For out-of-state families, our preferred option is our personal in-cabin flight nanny service. A Happy Beards representative personally accompanies your puppy from us to you. Your puppy travels safely with us in the airplane cabin—never in cargo and never handed over to a third-party transport company.
Because we travel frequently, personal flight-nanny delivery is often more affordable than families expect. Ask us for a quote to your nearest major airport.
Pickup in Utah is always welcome, and other meeting arrangements may be possible when practical.

About
Miniature Schnauzer
Puppies
What's it like owning a Miniature Schnauzer?
Miniature Schnauzers may look like lap dogs, but they’re more likely to chase animals around the yard or stand guard at the door than be lazy couch potatoes. These loyal dogs are bundles of energy that enjoy spending time with their owners, protecting the home, and being your #1 companion. Full-grown, they typically weigh 11-20 pounds and stand 12-14 inches tall.
Do Miniature Schnauzers do well in a busy household?
Miniature Schnauzers are generally excellent with children of all ages. Miniature Schnauzers are not the warmest dogs upon initial introduction, but once they get acquainted with you, they’re sweet and loving. Their wariness around strangers usually leads to lots of barking, especially when they’re around other dogs. They're very vocal and bark quite a lot.
What activities do Miniature Schnauzers enjoy most?
Miniature Schnauzers are athletic pups that can barely contain their energy. They need to be exercised multiple times a day to stay healthy and avoid getting into trouble. These dogs love to run, play in the yard, practice earth dog or tracking activities, and do anything that gets their heart pumping. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
How much grooming does a Miniature Schnauzer need?
Miniature Schnauzers have typical terrier-style coats. A soft, thick undercoat keeps them warm and is topped by a wiry outer coat. Their notable features include long hair on their chin and face, which gives them expressive eyebrows and a beard. Grooming-wise, this breed is fairly high-maintenance. Miniature Schnauzers are considered hypoallergenic, which can be a plus for allergy sufferers.
Are Miniature Schnauzers a good fit for apartment living?
Miniature Schnauzers are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. They can live outdoors in moderate or warm areas but prefer to spend most of their time indoors with family. They are highly trainable and eager to learn.
Puppy Buyer's FAQ
See Full Guide Here
Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
