A Buyer Profile is your personal introduction to breeders on Puppies.com. By sharing basic details about yourself, your living environment, and your pet experience, you build immediate trust when reaching out about a puppy. Complete profiles show breeders that you are a serious, responsible prospective owner!
Getting Started
Setting up your Buyer Profile is quick and straightforward:

New Members: Right after creating an account and verifying your phone number, you will automatically be directed to the Edit Profile page to complete your setup.

Existing Members: You can update or complete your Buyer Profile at any time from your account menu.
To access your Buyer Profile editing page at any time:

On a Desktop Browser: Click the Menu icon in the upper-right corner and select Edit Profile.

On a Mobile Browser: Tap the Menu icon, select Profile & Settings, and tap Edit Profile.

In the iOS or Android Apps: Tap the More icon, and tap Edit Profile or Edit My Profile.
Your editing page includes a progress bar at the top showing your completion percentage to help you fill out all key sections.
Buyer Profile Sections
1. Personal Profile Info

Name & Profile Picture: Enter your first and last name, and upload a clear profile photo (PNG or JPG files up to 25MB). Adding a photo gives your account a friendly face and helps build trust.

Location & ZIP Code: Set your location so breeders know where you are based.

About You: Share a brief introduction about yourself, your history with pets, or why you are looking for a new puppy.

Account Settings Note: If you need to change your email address or password, click the link to Account Settings (formerly Email & Password).
⚠️ Safety Tip: Avoid posting direct contact details (such as personal phone numbers, email addresses, or home addresses) in your "About You" bio. Keep all initial communications inside the secure Puppies.com Message Center.
2. Household & Interests
This section helps inform breeders about your home environment and what kind of puppy you are searching for:

Home & Yard: Select your living arrangement from the drop-down menu (e.g., house with a fenced yard, apartment, etc.).

Number of Dogs & Cats: Indicate how many pets currently live in your household.

Children Living in Home: Specify if children reside in your home so breeders can ensure a puppy is a good fit for your family.

Interested Breeds: Search and select up to 5 breeds you are actively interested in adopting.
How Sellers View Your Buyer Profile
Whenever you message a seller, they can click on your profile directly inside the Message Center conversation thread to review your details.
When a breeder views your Buyer Profile, they will be able to see:

Your profile photo, location, and joined date.

Your Household & Interests overview (such as home setup and child status).

Your verification badges (such as Email Verified, Phone Verified, or ID Verified).
You can preview how your profile looks to sellers at any time by clicking the View Buyer Profile link in the top-right corner of the Edit Profile page.
Saving Your Changes
Once you have filled in your personal details and household preferences, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the orange Save Profile button to ensure your profile updates are saved and visible to sellers.
