Finding a dog you love is the first step; the next is reaching out to the seller to make an inquiry. Puppies.com offers a secure Message Center to make contacting breeders simple, safe, and convenient—whether you already have an account or are completely new to the site.
If you are already logged into your Puppies.com account, you can contact a seller directly through an individual puppy advertisement or through the breeder’s main business profile.
Contacting Through a Puppy Listing:

Open the listing of the dog you are interested in.

Click or tap the orange Contact Me button.

Type your inquiry into the message text box.

Click Send. Your message will immediately appear in the seller's on-site Message Center.
Contacting Through the Seller's Profile:

Click on the seller's username or kennel name to open their public Profile.

Click or tap the orange Contact Me button in their Profile.

Draft your message and click Send.
If you don't have a Puppies.com account yet, you can still reach out to a seller once without going through a long registration process first.
Contacting Without an Active Account:

Click or tap the orange Contact Me button on any puppy listing.

A window titled "Send a message about [Puppy Name]" will pop up.

Fill in your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and type out your personal Message. Then, click the orange Continue button.

The Final Step: To protect our breeders from spam, you must verify your email address. A screen will appear reading "One more step: Verify your email to send your message."

Check your email inbox for a secure verification link sent by Puppies.com.
Note: Your message is safely queued in our system but will not be delivered to the seller until you click the link in that verification email. Clicking the link will simultaneously deliver your message to the breeder and finish creating your free buyer account.
Safety Tips:

Keep Conversations On-Platform: We strongly recommend keeping your initial communication inside the Puppies.com Message Center. Not only does this keep your personal cell phone number private, but it is required if you want to leave a testimonial for the seller later. Buyers are only eligible to leave reviews if a message-and-reply history exists in the Message Center prior to a deposit or purchase.

Protect Your Information: Never share sensitive financial documentation, social security numbers, banking details, or mobile verification codes with anyone on the platform.

Spotting Support Scams: Puppies.com Support will never contact you through the site's Message Center. Any official communication from our team will come via email from an official
@puppies.comaddress. We will never message you on-platform asking for your password, card numbers, or directing you to external links to "verify your payment." Please instantly block and report any user attempting this.
Troubleshooting Common Errors:
If you are clicking the contact button but running into errors, look for these common causes:

Missing Verifications: If you have an account but cannot send messages, your Email Verification or Phone Verification might be incomplete. Check your account sidebar checklist to ensure both are fully verified.

The Listing is "On Hold": If a puppy has a pending sale or deposit, the Contact Me button will display a "Listing On Hold" pop-up instead of the contact form.

If you are logged out: You will be prompted to sign in or create a free account to save the listing to your Favorites (so you can review it at a later point in case it becomes available), or create a Saved Search with similar criteria.

If you are logged in: You can tap Save to Favorites to track the puppy in case the sale falls through, or click Create a Saved Search to get automated notifications for similar puppies nearby.
