Video is one of the most effective ways to show prospective buyers a puppy’s personality and energy. Puppies.com allows you to upload videos directly to your listings and share those videos during conversations with buyers in the Message Center.
Supported Media and Size Limits: To ensure the site runs smoothly for everyone, please keep the following file limits in mind:
- Photos: PNG and JPG files up to 25MB.
- Videos: MP4, MOV, and WEBM files up to 100MB.
- Limitations: You may upload a maximum of 4 videos per listing. In total, your listing can hold up to 10 items (a combination of photos and videos).
To Upload a Video to a Listing:
- While editing/creating a listing, navigate to the Listing Media section.
- Click Upload up to _____ more photos or videos
- Select the appropriate video from the File Explorer/Images page that opens automatically.
- Click Done or Open (depending on your device type) to start the photo upload.
- You will see a progress bar appear as the video uploads. Please wait for this bar to fill completely before saving your listing.
When necessary, you can delete or reorder photos/videos in a listing.
To Delete/Reorder your Videos in a Listing:
- While editing a listing, click Manage above the Listing Media section.
- To delete, click the circular icon on the photo thumbnail(s) or video (s) you wish to remove. A green checkmark will appear on each selected image.
- Click the Delete Selected button.
- Click Yes in the confirmation window.
- To reorder, drag and drop photo/video thumbnails into the new order you want.
- Click Save Listing at the bottom when you're finished.
You can also share videos directly with buyers in your messages. This is a great way to provide updates or show a puppy in motion.
To Attach a Video to a Message:
- Open the conversation thread with the buyer in your Message Center.
- Click the Paper Clip icon in the message input field.
- Choose from two options:
- Add Media: This opens your device's file selector, allowing you to select a new video or photo to upload.
- Asset Library: This opens a library of media you have already uploaded to your listings, allowing you to quickly share existing videos with buyers.
- Once you select your video, you will see a progress bar indicating the upload status.
- Once the upload is complete, you can send the message.
- If you decide not to send the video, simply click the X icon on the video thumbnail in the message box to remove it before sending.
A Note on Asset Library: The Asset Library is designed to save you time. Any video or photo you have already uploaded to your listings will automatically appear in your Asset Library, so you never have to re-upload files you’ve already used.
